Can I use indexes on columnstore in production DB?

Hi!

I’m testing new functionality: hypercore TAM and indexes on columnstore. The documentation says that this feature will be removed starting with v2.22.0. Is this true, or can I use these features for tables in production DB?

Yes this feature will be removed in 2.22.0 so you should not be using this in a production database.

Will this functionality be replaced by a similar one in the future? Because this feature is very useful.

And what about hypercore TAM: will this functionality be considered obsolete or not?

This applies to hypercore TAM as well. We have made improvements to the sparse index support for compressed data with every past release, most recently with the addition of bloom filters. Which specific usecase were you using the TAM for?

Fortunately, I did not use hypercore TAM for any purpose.
